Click the bottom right edge. Have you ever noticed the vertical stripe at the very bottom right of your. The Windows 10 desktop and Start menu are easy to find. Windows 8 did its best to hide the desktop, but Windows 10 enthusiastically announces its return. There’s more good news. Shown in the following figure, the desktop is almost indistinguishable from the one in Windows 7. The new Windows 10 desktop looks almost identical.

Your desktop icons may be hidden. To view them, right-click the desktop, select View, and then select Show desktop icons. To add icons to your desktop such as This PC, Recycle Bin and more:

  1. Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Personalization > Themes.

  2. Under Themes > Related Settings, select Desktop icon settings.

  3. Choose the icons you would like to have on your desktop, then select Apply and OK.

  4. Note: If you are in tablet mode, you may not be able to see your desktop icons properly. You can find the program by searching for the program name in File Explorer. To turn off tablet mode, select action center on the taskbar (next to date and time), and then select Tablet mode to turn it on or off.

To show or hide desktop icons

Right-click (or press and hold) the desktop, point to View, and then select Show desktop icons to add or clear the check mark.

Note: Hiding all the icons on your desktop doesn't delete them, it just hides them until you choose to show them again.

To resize desktop icons

Right-click (or press and hold) the desktop, point to View, and then select Large icons, Medium icons, or Small icons.

Tip: You can also use the scroll wheel on your mouse to resize desktop icons. On the desktop, press and hold Ctrl while you scroll the wheel to make icons larger or smaller.
